'Lady Popular' - A Little Boring?

I played ‘Lady Popular’ for a while last week. I’m a girl and I have to say, I found it pretty darn boring.

I think it’s quite sad how this game which has been produced as supposedly “one of the only games for girls” basically deals with regular day to day activities. You go shopping, go to the hairdresser, get a boyfriend etc – things which girls/people do in real life.

On the other hand, games that are supposedly designed more for males such as ‘Resident Evil’ allow you to be chased by zombies and kill them! Something you wouldn’t do in real life (well, I don’t think so anyway).

So why is it that games aimed at girls only involve real-life, day-to-day activities, whereas “guy games” involve spectacular experiences that would never happen in the real world? (Making them more appealing – well, probably to most people anyway).

It seems a bit sad.

Girls deserve to have these extraordinary experiences too. And even if we try enter into this male –ridden videogames sphere to play these exciting “guy games” we are shunned.

Seems like we can never win.
