Casual games, missing time & problematic use

Not an avid gamer, I usually find myself confused in class when Kevin & Mark start talking about games in class & tutorial.  However, today a revelation!  Suddenly I heard him talk about casual games such as Bejewelled (which I had never heard of before taking this class) Farmville (as before) but I did know what he meant by Sudoku & Solitaire.
I finished my other summer school class at 12pm.  Two hours to kill & I found myself utterly addicted to Solitaire.  I lost the first 5 games, frustrated & highly annoyed I had to keep playing.  When I finally won my first game I felt a sense of accomplishment, however I found that I couldn’t stop because my percentage had suffered greatly from my first few losses.
I looked at the clock in the common room & it was 5 minutes to 2pm.  Two hours of solid Solitaire!  I never ever considered that I’d have a ‘problematic use’ associated with games.  I don’t play them regularly & the last console I had was a Sega Mega Drive & my only game Sonic the Hedgehog.
Obviously I’m not ‘addicted’ but it was great to see firsthand the effects that so many people who do have an opinion may rarely undertake the time to play games they critique & moan about e.g violence & addiction.  Just a thought I’m not sure of the videogame playing calibre of the researchers & commentators.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Anyways just my 5cents on my missing time & problematic use.
