Agency of soccer games in real life

I have been a long-time fan of soccer games. First started my 'soccer game career' through FIFA 98- Road to World Cup and after FIFA 2000, I changed my path the other series and FIFA's tenacious competitor Winning Eleven series(or Pro Evolution Soccer series in Western countries) and up to today I recognize myself as a PES fan than a FIFA fan. Along this long journey of soccer games I realized how such development of these games- thanks to each others' inevitable motivation in being the 'best' in the market- has been extremely rapid. The games' audio-visual versimilitude, gameplay, AI, and every other small details like scoreboards and adboards, even the commentary are so getting one, if not two steps close to ultimate realism of soccer. In particular, the gameplay is the realm that the two games series are compared the most.

In talking about the newest versions of the games' series- PES 2012 and FIFA 2012- both gameplays are extremely real. Firstly this 'realism' is as in the resemblance of the real-life players in the game. For example the players have more control in performing sneaky precise moves like Andreas Iniesta or perform trademark 'cutting-in' moves with Lionel Messi. Many players in the games are synchronized with the real-life existences that when one watches a Youtube clip of these games, one may be confused whether it is from a 'videogame' or a clip from 'real-life.' Not only individual brilliances are embedded in these games but also the broad stretagies of team-play that the game player can manipulate. Formiddable passing-works of Barcelrona or fierce counter-attacking football of Manchester United can be immitated by the player through these video games. There are hence great amount of 'AGENCY' embedded in contemporary soccer games in which the player can be engaged to.

Subsequently such high-standard soccer games of today also provide unexpected support for those who play soccer in real-life(whether playing as leisure or even professional perhaps). For me personally I play soccer every Saturday morning (in a social team) and believe it or not, playing a game or two of PES 2012 really helps me to picture what to do in certain situation when stood on the real pitch. It's like a mental, 'imaginary' training or 'warm-up' session.- IT ACTUALLY HELPS ^^. It may sound a bit weird lol. I mean it is quiet hard to explain it in words but one thing that came to mind was that such help that I get from playing PES is probably reflected by the high-quality agency that these games provide- because the 'capacity to act' is so vast and broad that it is extremely close to the real-life. ^^
