It is true..

My history with video games started with playing Atari, and then it evolved into Sega and onto a Play Station at a later stage. My first interaction with video games was really exciting that I felt that this is what I need to do for the rest of my entire life. I felt that urge to keep playing and playing for ever; and it never went down too well when my parents deprived me from my video games. I played Tekken, Crash Bandicoot, Super Mario, Super Sonic and Donkey Kong and in the recent past PES because I am a great soccer fan. However, I think I totally grew out of playing video games. As much as it was fun, it was starting to be more of a hassle and a time waste. I felt that I would rather be outdoors doing a certain activity and not being held up between the 4 walls in front of a screen playing games all day/night long.

My experience with PC games wasn’t that great, I played Counter Strike a few times just because my mates were into it but I never like it or saw the great amusement that millions of people see in it. This brings me to the point I want to get at, warfare games.

I am going to talk about Call of Duty as an example. To be honest, I haven’t played it and I don’t do warfare games but from what I know about it is that they ALWAYS take place in Islamic countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The games are just following Hollywood’s trend of portraying Islamists and Arabs as the terrorists or enemies. The enemies are usually pictured as Islamic extremists and whether you like it or not, this sends a great message that a lot of people (mainly Muslims) don’t agree with. Alright, I think I briefly summarized what I wanted to mention in my first blog and it definitely leaves us all of you with a point to keep in mind while playing warfare games.
