Immersion

I found the concept of immersion to be a highly interesting one.

As one who loves almost all video games in any shape or form it struck me that immersion does play a rather large part in enjoying the video game.

I do tend to find it overly irritating when something breaks that immersion into the game. I find games such as Zelda tend to break immersion during the time in which Link is required to talk to another person and you need to read on screen the conversation. Whereas games such as Assassins Creed the main characters are able to talk themselves rather than having to constantly read each and every conversation that your character may have.

However, there is the argument that immersion and hypermediacy can be considered to be objective. And immersion once again depends on the game enviroment that avoids hypermediacy.
