Good or Bad?

So after sitting in Fridays lecture and viewing the Resident Evil 5 trailer, it made me understand just why that particular trailer got banned. I fully agree that game creators and producers take footage from elsewhere without understanding the history or influence behind it but culture and ethnic races are targeted enough during everyday life without having to be picked on and made to feel indifferent already. Media tend to 'tear apart' anyone that is different and this tends to be seen a lot on the news almost on a daily basis. For video gaming creators, to accidentally reach out and take footage like in Resident Evil 5, it makes me wonder just how they came up with it. Sure, maybe using white people instead of black would have been a bit weird but for those of us that come from places like South Africa where our history is based on scenes like that, its mortifying. Especially when many of us grew up having to witness it first-hand. Its starting to make me think video games aren't all they are cut out to be. Maybe society is changing, but whether its for the better or worse, I'm guessing it depends on the level these games will keep being created on.
